Christmas Cards using Build a Wreath Template

Good Morning

I have put this off for as long as I could, but feel now is the time to start with the "Christmas Cards".  I made these using a "Build A Wreath" template that I made with a star shaped die.

Materials Used:

A6 Christmas Mini Stamps
A5 Peace and Joy Stamps Set
6x6 White Card
5.75 x 5.75 Red Mat
4.75 x 4.75 Red Card
5.5 x 5.5 Green Glitter Card Mat
5 x 5 White Card
2 sizes of Circle Dies
Oxide Inks
Alcohol Markers
Sparkle Pen
Silver Glitter Embossing Powder
  • Matted Red and Green Glitter Card onto white card blank
  • Cut larger circle die out of centre of 5 x 5 white card.  Cut smaller circle out of centre of 4.75 x 4.75 Red Card.
  • Used red Oxide Ink and inked lightly around the White mat.  Using the Build a Wreath Template and the middle branch from the Peace and Joy Stamp set, I stamped it around the circle in 2 colours of green.  Used the Holly, Robin, Snowflake, and Bell stamps from the Christmas Mini Stamps and stamped them evenly around the branches.
  • Embossed the snowflake with Silver Embossing powder.
  • Coloured in all the images.
  • Using the Smaller Circle die, I cut out a circle of white card and stamped and embossed the Peace and Joy stamp onto the circle.  Stamped some Holly along the bottom and coloured the images.
  • Matted the Red Mat behind the Stamped Mat.
  • Using foam pads matted the stamped layer onto the Green Glitter Card.  Added the Greeting to the centre.

Materials Used:

A6 Christmas Mini Stamps
A5 Peace and Joy Stamps Set
A6 Flying Unicorn Stamp Set
6x6 White Card
5.75 x 5.75 Red Mat
5.5 x 5.5 White Mat
5 x 5 White Card
3 sizes of Circle Dies
Oxide Inks
Alcohol Markers
Sparkle Pen
  • Cut the smallest circle die out Red Card Mat and layered onto white card blank.  Stamped and embossed "Peace and Joy" stamp into centre of circle.
  • Cut larger circle die out of centre of 5.5 x 5.5 white card.  Cut middle circle out of centre of 4.75 x 4.75 White Card.
  • Used Green Oxide Ink and inked lightly around the White 5.5 x 5.5 mat.
  • Puting the larger white mat on the top and the smaller one behind, temporarily join them with a little bit of double sided tape.
  • Using the Build a Wreath Template and the middle branch from the Peace and Joy Stamp set, I stamped it around the circle in 3 colours.  Used the Holly, Robin and Bell stamps from the Christmas Mini Stamps and stamped them evenly around the branches.  Also used a small flower from the A6 Flying Unicorn Stamp Set.
  • Coloured in all the images.
  • Carefully separated the 2 white mats.  Matted the one with the middle size circle onto the red mat, ensuring the circles were even.
  • Using foam pads matted the inked stamped layer on top of the previous layers.
  • Added some red gems to the holly berries and a silver gem to the centre of the flower.

Peony Gift Bag

Good Morning

I had a little play with the A5 Peony Stamp set from Colourific

Had some real fun, playing with this stamp set.  Trying hard to make something a little different from a card.  Decided to make a gift back.  One I have my measurements for the bag and stamped the Peony along the top of the front and back of bag, I coloured them in.  Still thought it was missing something, so I stamped and coloured another 8 and added them onto front and back with foam pads.  Stamped various leaf sizes from the stamp set, coloured and placed them in amongst the flowers.  Didn't like that the bag was plain, so I cut and embossed some white card and placed it underneath the flowers.  Punched holes in the back and front and added ribbon for the handles.  Finished off by making the little tag.

Hope you like it and thank you for looking.

Good Morning everyone,

How quickly are the weeks flying past.  My DT Blog for today is using the following stamp sets:-

A6 Flying Unicorn
A6 Season Text Background

I started by using a 6x6 blank card.  I cut a out a 5.75 square mat out of floral backing paper and attached it to card.  I stamped the Seasons Text Background and the Flying Unicorn onto a piece of white card and embossed it using sparkle embossing powder.  Using a guillotine I cut the background into small squares and matted them onto slightly larger pink squares, then attached them evenly to the card.  I used the same pink card to cut out a frame using some dies from my stash.  Using the larger of the 2 dies, I also cut out a piece of acetate and adhered it to the wrong side of the frame using red liner tape.  I also used this die to cut out a piece of contrasting paper to add to the back of the shaker.  To make the shaker piece, I used Pinflair Gel all the way round the frame, then added some sparkles to the centre of the frame, making sure they didn't stick to the gel.  I added the backing piece on top of the pinflair gel and left it to dry.  While the shaker was drying, I coloured the unicorn and also stamped some of the little flowers that come with the stamp set.  Once the shaker was dry, I attached the unicorn and its horn to the front of the shaker then glued it to the card. To finish off I stamped and embossed a  "Happy Birthday" sentiment, layered it onto pink card and attached to the card.  Hopefully you can see the shaker part a little better in this photograph.

A Little Note to Say

Good Morning

Alice here, hope you are all well and ready for another Monday morning!

A week or so ago, I found a new technique to make a wreath.  You can make your own Build a Wreath template by following tutorials on You Tube.  I knew this technique would work well with the Colourific A6 Leaves Clear Stamp Set.  You can find this stamp set, and many more super stamps  by looking on the Colourific Website here

Materials Used:

A6 Leaves Clear Stamp Set
A6 Camper Van Stamp Set
A6 Border and Stamp Stamp Set
6 x 6 White Card
5.5 x 5.5 White Mat
5.5 x 5.5 Green spotty mat
5 x 5 White Mat
Butterfly Die
Various coloured inks

  • Inked the largest mat with sage green ink and the smaller one with lilac ink.
  • Used my stamping platform and my homemade template to make the wreath using various sizes of leaves and flowers.  Using a scalpel I carefully cut out the centre of the wreath.
  • Using the stamping platform, I stamped the border around the edge of the 6x6 card, then layered the largest mat onto the white card.
  • Stamped the sentiment onto white card, cut it out and inked the edges with lilac ink.  I shaped the sentiment using a bone folder and attached it through the wreath, then used foam pads to attach the wreath mat onto the green spotty mat and attached it to the card.
  • Finished off with a die cut butterfly which was inked with green and lilac inks. Finally added small pearls to the card and the centre of the butterfly.
I really liked this card and hope you do too.

Zentangled Blossom

Good Morning,

Alice here with my DT Card for today.  The open spaces in this card immediately made me think about the art of Zentangle.  I used the following Stamp Sets to create it:-

A6 Blossom and Grow
A6 Border and Stems
A6 Leaves

You can find them all here along with many other fabulous and versatile stamp sets.

To make this I used a 6x6 blank card along with a 5.75 x 5.75 Black Layering Mat and a 5.5 x 5.5. white layer.  I used a stencil and a light grey ink pad to create a soft back ground.  I then stamped the 3 lined border all the way round.  I stamped each flower and several sizes of the solid leaves with black ink and embossed all of them.  I fussy cut out the flowers and used a black fine liner to create the Zen tangle patterns.  I used sticky pads and placed the flower diagonally across the front of the card, then placed the leaves where I thought they looked best.  I attached a crystal gem to the centre of each bloom then finished the card off with a greeting from my stash.

I like the finished card and hope you do too.  Thank you for looking.

See you next time

Good Morning Everyone

I made this little Card and Artist Trading Coin using the Colourific A6 Sports Car set.  This is a great little set for those often difficult to make "Male" cards and you can find it by clicking here

Materials Used:  Black Card, White Card, Silver Glitter Card and 2 sheets of background paper.  Black and Red Glitter Pens and some Copic Pens.

I embossed a piece of white card with a star embossing folder and matted this onto a piece of black card and attached both to the card base.  I cut the background papers at an angle and overlapped them onto the bottom of the card.

I Cut out 1 large star on white card and added the cogs for the background, then mounted in onto a Silver Glitter Card Star.  I added 2 smaller black stars to each side of the larger star and place a silver glitter star in the centre.

I coloured in the car with the various pens ad added Glossy Accent to the windows.  I also used a white pen to add some light shadows to the car.  I curled it slightly and placed it over the stars with some sticky pads.

Finally, I stamped and cut the the "Life in the Fast Lane" sentiment and cut up the words and attached to the card.  I used a "Happy Birthday" stamp from my stash.  Had no "Dad" stamps so that was handwritten.

Hi Everyone

I am having a great time playing with this set of "A6 Blossom and Grow" stamps from Colourific.  You can find them by clicking here

Materials:  A6 Blossom and Grow and A6 Borders and Stem" Stamps, Green Card, White Card, Backing Paper, Copic Markers, Silver Glitter Embossing Powder, Flower Embossing Folder and a Circle Die.

I used the Border stamp around the edge of the background paper and heat embossed with Silver Glitter powder, then layered a green square and the backing paper onto the blank card. I cut a smaller green square and layered it onto the backing paper with sticky pads.

I cut a smaller white square and die cut a circle out of the middle, then embossed it with the embossing folder.  I used another piece of the background paper and stamped the Birthday Wishes onto it and embossed with Silver Glitter embossing powder. I centred the sentiment in the middle of the die cut circle and attached it to the card with sticky pads.

The flowers and stems were stamped and coloured with copic pens.  I glued the stems onto the card and raised the flower heads with sticky pads and attached.  I added a little bow to finish it off.

Thanks for looking

Hello Everyone

Been on holiday, so catching up with my scheduled blogs for Colourific Stamps.  Father's Day is approaching soon, so I thought I would get out the Colourific A6 Sports Car stamps to make a little card.  You can find this stamp set on the Colourific Website here

Materials:  Blank DL Card, 2 sheets background paper, A6 Sports Card stamps, Glitter Pens and Copics.  Peel Off borders.  Also used some die cut sentiments and a set of alphabets from my stash.

Measured each square of background paper 2in in from each corner and cut it diagonally. Glued the darker piece in place first, then added the 2 corners and added some peel off borders to set it off.

Stamped the cars, and cut one in half. Coloured all 3 pieces using copics and glitter pens and added Glossy Accents to the windows.  Placed the full car in the centre and raised with sticky pads.  The cut cars were placed at either side of the card.  Stamped the Triangle Warning 3 times and added the word Dad to it.  The sentiments are die cut works

Thank you for looking.
See you next week

Hello Again

Catching up with my most recent makes with Colourific Stamps.  I had a little play with the Unicorn and Wings and Unicorn stamp sets from Colourific.  This is a great little set of stamps and will be loved by every little girl.  To find these and lots more stamps click here.

To make this card, I used distress oxide inks, and made 2 rainbow backgrounds out of 5.5 square paper.  I used the Border and Stems to add a border round one of the sheets, then cut it into 4 equal squares.

I cut out 2 circles, one from the 2nd rainbow background and the other out of white card.  I cut a smaller circle from the middle of the white circle to make a frame and stamped the border around the circle.  I embossed the rainbow circle with a star embossing folder.

I attached the 4 small square evenly onto a 6 x 6 card.  I matched up the colours of the rainbow circle, raised it with pads and attached onto the card.

I stamped the Unicorn and horn, and coloured in with copics, and used a glitter pen over the top.  I stamped and coloured the Unicorns mane again and decoupaged it on top of the original.  I shaped the Unicorn and attached to the circle.

I stamped out 5 of the little flowers and coloured them in with the same colours as the rainbow background and stuck them around the circle.

I hope you like it xx

Good Morning All

Here is another of my makes for the Colourific Design Team.  You can find these stamps on the Colourific Website : https://colourific.co.uk/shop?olsPage=products

I had never heard of Artist Trading Coins until I saw my fellow DT members showing them.  This is a great idea for using up all the scraps.

For the card, I stamped the Seasons Text stamp onto pink card and embossed with Silver Glitter embossing powder.  I wrapped a ribbon round twice and tied it off.

I used some Inks to colour a piece of white card.  When this was completely dry, the flower was stamped to the side of the card and embossed with Silver Glitter embossing powder.  I used the more of the ink from my pallet to add deeper shades of pink on the flower and added fine splashes of pink ink onto the white space.

When it was completely dry, I attached the pink border and flower panel onto a piece of pink card then layered this onto a 6 x 6 card.  I added some pink gems to finish it off.

For the Artist Trading Coin, I cut out 2 x 2.5 inch layers of thick card and glued them together.  I had a piece of pink card that I tried to foil with the Seasons Text background.  It didn't foil properly, but I was able to cut a 2.5 inch circle from the best part and glue it onto the thicker circle and inked the edges.  I used a die to cut out a hessian piece and trimmed it down.  I stamped the "Blossom" flower onto white card and embossed with Silver Glitter embossing powder and used the remainder of my ink to colour it pink.  I finally stamped the stem with green ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I built up the coin using layers and raised the flower to give depth.  Finally I stamped out a sentiment from my stash and cut the words up and mounted them onto the coin.

Thank you for looking xx

Good Morning All

This is what I made for my first Design Team Blog for Colourific.  I have used the A6 Sports Car stamp set for my first card.

·         I used a stencil to ink through the corners of a background paper and matted it onto a piece of navy card.
·         Stamped the wheels/cogs from the same stamp set to make the little background panel and a very old background map stamp from my stash (I have no idea where it came from) for the other panel.  These were both matted onto navy card.
·          The  car was stamped and coloured with copic markers and fussy cut.  I used Glossy Accents in the windows and along the trim and round the wheels of the car.
·          Used some glitter card and matted it onto navy card for the border.
·          Finally I stamped the “Life in the Fast Lane” stamp from this set onto white card and embossed and matted onto navy card.

Here is a link to the website, where you can find all the stamps :-

Moderne Flowers - again

I just love this stamp set.  It's such a beautiful little flower stamp.  To create the background paper, I stamped the Moderne Leaves onto pink paper, then embossed with white embossing powder.  I inked the edges of the paper with green and yellow distress inks.  I stamped the Moderne Flower 4 times with versa mark ink pad and embossed with white embossing powder.  I cut each flower out with a hexagon die and inked the background with yellow and green distress inks.  I coloured the flowers with water colours.  I used a larger hexagon die and cut out 4 in black card, and layered the flowers on top.  I used black card and layered the backing paper on top of this.  I cut out the sentiment with a die and made a messy bow.  Then assembled it all together.  On hindsight, maybe 3 hexagons would have been enough.

Laura's Room Plaque - using A5 Girls Night Out Stamps

Good Evening

This is the last of my projects using my new Colourific Stamp Set.

Products Used:

MDF Plaque
Backing Paper from my stash
A5 Girls Night Out Stamp - by Colourific
A6 Moderne Flowers
A6 Leaves
2 shades of Pink Card
Gold Mirri Card
Glitter Card
Cream Card
Pink Distress Ink
Gems

I used one sheet of paper slightly larger that the mdf plaque, use cosmic shimmer glue and attached it.  I sanded of the excess, then inked the edges with pink distress ink.  I used a pokey tool to push through the holes.

I used my scan n cut to cut out the letters in pink and gold card.  I used the gold letters as a drop shadow.  I stamped the shoe image onto pink card, patterned paper and cream linen card.  I then paper pieced it all together.  I cut a second set of shoes and cut away the back one and layered the front one on top.  I shaped it and glued it onto plaque. I used the largest and next size down of Moderne Flowers and shaped them with a ball tool.  I cut 3 leaves out of gold mirri card.  I placed the flowers along the back of the shoes and added some gems.  I placed the leaves between the flowers.  I though maybe it needed something in the bottom right hand corner so added another flower,

My daughter has Severe Learning Difficulties has she was absolutely thrilled with this little plaque.

Stepper Card - Using stamps by Colourific

Here is another card made using the Colourific Stamps I purchased at the Craft Show in SECC.

Products used:

A4 White Card

Black Card for Layering

White Pearl Paper

A6 Leaves Stamp Set by Colourific

A6 Moderne Flower Stamp Set by Colourific

A6 Border Stamp Set by Colourific

Copic Pens

Green Distress Ink

I first of all used a Scoreboard and scored the shape for the Stepper Card, the cut along the edges and folded  to make the card.  I cut out mats using the black card.  I used an A5 sheet of white pearlised paper and made the background paper using the Border Stamps.  I then inked this in green.  I cut this into sections to make the last mat layers.

I used the Moderne Flower, middle size and cut out 17 flowers and coloured them with copic pens. I shaped the flowers with a ball tool and stuck then randomly onto the centre panel, adding a little white gel pen on each flower as a highlight.  I stuck gems in the centre of each flower.  I stamped the little butterfly from A6 Leaves, 3 times and coloured them with copics and attached to card

I made a banner for the sentiment using back and white card and used a peel off for the Happy Birthday.

Birthday Wishes Peek a boo card - Using Colourific Stamps

Hi

Once again, another card using Colourific Stamps.  Here are the products I used for this:-

3 sheets Black Card
Backing Paper from my Stash
Glitter Card
Bit of Lace
Glossy Accents
Honey Do Crafts Embossing Powder
2 sizes of Rectangular dies
A6 Modern Flowers by Colourific
A6 Flowers Marquis by Colourific
A6 Borders and Stems by Colourific
A6 Leaves by Colourific

I watched a You Tube Video by Norma Lee on how to do this, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAuaJ3D6TIk

I cut the black card to the required size, then scored as instructed in the tutorial.  I cut the background paper to size and adhered to black card, and assembled as advised.  I used the smallest rectangle die to cut the aperture in each of the three places.  I then used both sizes of rectangle die to cut the frames from the glitter card for around the aperture.  I stuck on all three frames.  I then added a border made up of black, glitter card and the piece of lace.  I cut 3 sizes of jagged leaves from A6 Leaves and coloured with copics.

I stamped the Moderne Flower onto water colour card with a versa mark pad and embossed with pink Honey Do Crafts embossing powder.  I then used an A6 Border stamp to make the stem for the flower and added 2 leaves from the A6 Flowers Marquis stamps.  I used water colour paints to paint the middle of the flower pink and the leaves and stems green.  I used glossy accents in the drops on the flower and glitter glue in the centre of the flower.   I used a stamp from a magazine as the sentiment and stamped with green distress ink onto water colour card and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I coloured this stamp with water colours.

This was a little confusing to work out to start with, but I think I have mastered it now.
